IN: Clurey

OUT: Skinner, Frederick

TOM CLUREY has been named to return to the Port Adelaide line-up for the important Round 4 clash with Melbourne on Thursday night.

Clurey had a minor knee clean-out following the club’s pre-season win over Adelaide and has been training strongly recently to prove he is ready to play his first game of the 2022 season.

He is the sole change to the side which lost a heartbreaker after the siren in Showdown LI with fellow backman Sam Skinner dropping out.

Skinner was subbed out of that game with an ankle injury. He will train again on Thursday with a hope he will be available to play in the SANFL against his former side South Adelaide on Saturday.

Last week’s medical substitute, Martin Frederick has again been named as an emergency, along with Miles Bergman, Sam Hayes and Trent Dumont.

Bergman has not featured at AFL level since an off-season shoulder operation while Hayes and Dumont have yet to make their AFL debuts for the club.

The medical substitute will be named from among the emergencies before the first bounce.

The game against the Demons will get underway at 7:10pm.
