INJURY and a Sunday AFL game have seen Port Adelaide make eight changes for its Round 3 SANFL clash with Norwood.

Port Adelaide will travel to Norwood Oval for the Friday night blockbuster between traditional rivals with MacKenzie Nield in line for his club debut.

Nield is a West Adelaide junior who most recently played for PHOS Camden.

After his six-goal effort against South Adelaide last week, forward Jeremy Finlayson has been rewarded with a call-up into the AFL squad for Sunday’s game against Carlton. Trent Dumont, Sam Skinner and Sam Hayes have also been included in the extended side named on Thursday evening to travel to Melbourne.

Martin Frederick and Dante Visentini have been ruled out this weekend by the AFL’s Health and Safety protocols while reliable backman Tom Corcoran will sit out the game under the concussion protocols.

Campbell Wildman, who took out the Anthony Williams Memorial Trophy as the SANFL contracted player of the year in 2021 will play his first game of the season, while Matt Appleton and Miller Carter are among the other inclusions.

In the absence of regular rucks Hayes and Visentini, Luke Surman has been named in ruck and will get support from Ollie Lord.

The game on Friday gets underway on the Parade at 7:35pm.
