Port Adelaide midfielder Karl Amon has been cited by the Match Review Officer following the club’s narrow loss to Carlton on Sunday.

Amon was charged with striking Blue Jack Silvagni in the first quarter of the three point defeat.

The incident was assessed as intentional body contact with low impact and the fine is generally $3000 for this type of offence.

As it is a first offence and with an early guilty plea, Amon can accept a $2000 sanction.

He has until Tuesday to decide on whether to accept or challenge the charge.
