DESPITE initial expecations of a one-month rehabiliation from a groin injury, Crow Richard Douglas could play against Port Adelaide on Saturday afternoon.

A "medical call" will be made late in the week on whether Douglas will line up against the Power in the historic first Balfours Showdown at the Adelaide Oval.

The midfielder sustained a heavy knock to his groin in a trial match against the GWS Giants earlier in March.

The Crows' forward line recruit James Podsiadly is also expected to take on the Power after suffering a dead arm against Geelong last week.

The 32-year-old returned to the field and was subsequently cleared of any damage.

Tom Lynch and Andy Otten won't be considered for selection with both still between three and five weeks away from a return.
