The AFL has released the fixture for season seven of NAB AFLW, with Port Adelaide thrilled to be included on the bill for the first time.

The Port Adelaide women will play five home games across the 10-game fixture, comprising four at Alberton Oval and one at Adelaide Oval.

A blockbuster Friday night Showdown will be a key feature of the season in round six, when Port Adelaide will take on the reigning premiers at Adelaide Oval.

The Power’s first match of the season will be an away day game against West Coast on Saturday 27 August.

Fans will be expected to flock to Alberton Oval on Saturday 3 September for the side’s first home game, where they will take on the Western Bulldogs

Port Adelaide will face off against the other three expansion teams, with a home game against Sydney in round four, an away game against Hawthorn in round seven and the final minor round against Essendon at home.

Port will also host Pride Round against the Kangaroos in round eight on Saturday 15 October and an Indigenous Round match in round four on Saturday 17 September.

All Saturday matches throughout September will be floating fixtures to maximise double-header opportunities with the 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series.

Round 10 will also be a floating round, with timing to be confirmed closer to the round to optimise scheduling outcomes heading into the AFLW finals.

Head of AFLW Juliet Haslam is excited to have the club’s first AFLW fixture finalised.

“This is another exciting day for Port Adelaide,” Haslam said.

“So much preparation has gone into this fixture from clubs and the AFL and we are very pleased with what we have to look forward to in the season ahead.

“The Friday night Showdown at Adelaide Oval will be an absolute highlight for us and we hope to see big crowds coming along to support our Port women.

“We’re also pleased to be playing against the other three new teams into the competition. This will give us a real measure of where we are at as a team in our inaugural year.

“With four home games at Alberton Oval, we know our members and fans will get behind us and pack the ground to cheer on our incredible footballers.”
