PORT ADELAIDE defender Ebony O'Dea has suffered a partially collapsed lung following Saturday's practice match against the Adelaide Crows.

O’Dea endured a knee to the back during a marking contest in the third term and eventually left the ground in the final quarter after experiencing breathing difficulties.

X-rays on Sunday revealed that the 23-year-old had suffered a pneumothorax (collapsed lung).

O’Dea is overall well, and has consulted with a chest specialist.

A return-to-play timeline is currently unclear, however it can be confirmed O’Dea will be unavailable for selection for this weekend's practice match against Essendon in Melbourne.
