DEFENDER Jase Burgoyne is recovering well after injuring his knee at training and having a minor surgical procedure

Burgoyne landed awkwardly in a training incident on Wednesday during Port Adelaide’s pre-season camp on the Sunshine Coast and flew back to Adelaide on Thursday to have his right knee assessed

On Friday morning the 19-year-old underwent an arthroscopy to have the lateral meniscus trimmed.

He is expected to be back running in early January.

Forward Mitch Georgiades has also had a minor procedure to remove the syndesmosis buttons in his left ankle.

Georgiades had a syndesmosis repair at the end of last season and he had the follow up procedure to alleviate some irritation.

The 21 year-old is expected to be back running within a fortnight.

Port Adelaide’s players completed their camp on Friday evening and will resume training after a Christmas Break on Monday 9 January.
