TWO starting teams have been named for Port Adelaide’s internal trial match on Friday evening in preparation for the 2023 AFL Premiership season.

Players are likely to rotate between teams as play progresses, while some players returning from injury will be carefully managed.

It will be the fans’ first opportunity to see new recruits Jason Horne-Francis, Junior Rioli and Francis Evans in action, as well as the four draftees who joined the club in November.

SANFL-listed players will bolster numbers for the white team, while five AFL-listed players will not participate due to injury, or as a precautionary measure.

Zak Butters sustained a light sprain to his AC joint at training earlier this week and will assume the role of runner for the game.

Since returning from off-season groin surgery, Josh Sinn has been training well, but will also sit out the intraclub match after suffering a minor hamstring strain.

Both Butters and Sinn will travel to Perth with the squad to continue preparation for trial games against West Coast and Fremantle.

Also sitting out the internal trial will be Trent Dumont (calf soreness), Jeremy Finlayson (syndesmosis) and Ollie Lord (lacerated kidney).

Limited tickets are still available for purchase at the Port Adelaide membership counter at Alberton Oval for $5, with all proceeds going to club charity partners Variety and Foodbank SA Flood Relief.

The match will be live streamed on portadelaidefc.com.au and the Official Club App from 5pm on Friday 17 February.
