SEVERAL Port Adelaide players are in the mix to return to the side this Saturday, including captain Tom Jonas and forward Todd Marshall.

Jonas served a one-match ban last weekend and will be available for selection, while Marshall is expected to be cleared from concussion protocols.

Tall forward Charlie Dixon could make a comeback, with assistant coach Chad Cornes expressing on Tuesday, “he’s a really good chance to play.”

Over the last few weeks, Dixon has been recovering from a quad strain and hasn’t taken the field since Round 8.

Midfielder Hugh Jackson was a travelling emergency last weekend and if a place became available this week, could be a chance to debut.

The 20-year-old has been working hard in the SANFL to earn his first AFL appearance, averaging 21.2 disposals, 4.5 clearances and 6.2 inside 50s this season.

Josh Sinn has been named among the coach’s best in three of the last four SANFL matches, with the 21-year-old having played every game this year after being hampered by injury in 2022.

The left-footer has been on the verge of being given another shot at AFL level since making his debut in Round 2 last year.

Meanwhile, Travis Boak will be tested this week and if fit, will likely walk straight back into the AFL side, if he’s able to overcome a rib injury sustained in Round 10.

Orazio Fantasia will also undergo testing at training this week after being sidelined with a quad injury since last month, with the 27-year-old expected to return to football through the SANFL.

Port Adelaide will name its side for Saturday’s Round 12 match against Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval on Thursday evening at 5:50pm ACST.
