PORT ADELAIDE's Ashleigh Saint has had her one-match ban upheld at the AFLW tribunal, following a hearing on Tuesday evening.

The key forward was cited by the Match Review Officer for a tackle on Geelong’s Claudia Gunjaca, which happened late in the second term on Saturday.

The club decided to challenge the ban offered, attempting to have the impact reclassified as low, rather than medium.

After much deliberation, the tribunal deemed that Ganjaca’s arms were pinned when she was taken to ground with force, meaning she had no ability to use her arms to reduce impact.

The tackle classification was upheld as careless conduct, with high contact and medium impact.

Saint will miss Friday’s game against West Coast.
