SMALL forward Jed McEntee will miss Port Adelaide's Round 2 clash against Richmond after entering concussion protocols.

McEntee's head made contact with the ground during a marking contest in the third quarter of Sunday's game, after which he left the ground to undergo a head injury assessment.

He was subsequently subbed out of the match with medical staff confirming a concussion.

Tom Scully will be assessed this week after sustaining a lateral knee sprain during Saturday's SANFL trial game at Thebarton Oval.

Scully underwent scans on Monday which showed no major structural damage, with the key forward hoping to prove his fitness for Friday night.

Port Adelaide’s AFL side will play Richmond this Sunday, while the SANFL team will take on South Adelaide in a Friday night trial game at Alberton.
