TODD MARSHALL will on Saturday night become the 54th player to reach 100 AFL games for Port Adelaide.

The club’s leading goal kicker in 2022, Marshall has overcome significant adversity off the field to achieve the milestone and is now regarded as one of the most exciting forwards, and most reliable set shots for goal, in the competition.

Here are some numbers to help you impress your friends about the 25-year-old’s career so far:

198 – At 198cm tall, Marshall is the 21st tallest player to represent Port Adelaide at AFL level and the seventh tallest player on the current AFL list. While yet to feature at AFL level for the club, Jordon Sweet is the tallest currently listed player and club’s tallest player ever at 206cm.

16 – Marshall was taken at pick 16 from the Murray Bushrangers in the 2016 AFL National Draft. That year saw Port Adelaide also claim Sam Powell-Pepper (pick 18), Joe Atley (pick 32), and Willem Drew (pick 33).

169 – Marshall was the 169th player to represent Port Adelaide at AFL level when he made his debut in a 17-point win over the Western Bulldogs at Eureka Stadium in Ballarat. That day he had 10 disposals, three marks and four tackles but failed to trouble the scorers. Charlie Dixon booted four goals in the win. Marshall played three games in his debut season, booting one goal, including the controversial overtime Elimination Final loss to West Coast.

66.67 – Marshall’s winning percentage in his 99 games. He has won 66 and lost 33 games in that time with the 15-win, six-loss season of 2021 his best.

142 – Marshall has booted 142 goals in his 99 games so far, ranking him 15th in goals in the AFL for Port Adelaide. He has booted five goals in a game on three occasions – most recently against Hawthorn in round 12 last year. His best tally for a season is the 45 goals he kicked in 2022 when he won the club’s goalkicking award.

13 – Marshall wears the number four on his back, having shifted to the number when his good friend Paddy Ryder offered it to him when he left the club at the end of 2019. Marshall had previously worn the number 13 guernsey in 20 games between 2017-2019.

4 – Not just his current guernsey number, Marshall has only polled four Brownlow Medal votes in his eight AFL seasons and never more than one vote in a game. His best effort was the three votes he earned across three separate games in the 2022 season.

5 – Marshall has played five times against this week’s opponent Melbourne for two wins and three losses, booting just three goals. The Demons are one of five clubs he has a losing record against so far. At Adelaide Oval where the game will be played, he has played 52 times for 36 wins and 16 losses.

15 – Marshall has booted 15 goals in his eight games against the Crows, more than he has kicked against any other side. The next best is the 12 goals he has booted in six games against Sydney.

12 – Marshall has played AFL games at 12 different venues across his 99 games, and only failed to kick a goal at one – in Ballarat in the single game he played there when he debuted. He has enjoyed victory at ten of the 12 venues, with only Kardinia Park in Geelong (two games, two losses) and Traeger Park in Alice Springs (one game, one loss) left to win at.
