Yartapuulti defender Logan Evans has signed a three-year contract extension, taking him through to at least the end of 2028.
The 19-year-old is a success story of the SANFL rookie program, training with the Power throughout the first half of the 2024 season, before being selected in the mid-season rookie draft.
Making his AFL debut just three weeks after being drafted, Evans went on to play the last 13 games of the season, where he averaged almost 16 disposals and 5.5 marks.
Yartapuulti list manager Jason Cripps said Evans had fitted into the AFL environment seamlessly.
“Logan has been a great addition to our backline over the last nine months, and has learned and absorbed plenty of game knowledge since being in the AFL system.
“His aerial ability and accuracy by foot are solid traits of his game, and he we know he will continue to develop positively at our club.
“Logan’s attitude is excellent, he responds well to feedback, and he’s a hard worker. We are pleased to see Logan remain at Port Adelaide for three more years.”
Evans came through Norwood’s SANFL system, where he played a mix of league and reserves football, before arriving at Alberton.
At 190 centimetres, the South Australian native competes well in the air, can read the play effectively, and is a smart ball user.
“I’m so happy to be here for another three years,” Evans said.
“I’m grateful to Port Adelaide for putting faith in me and giving me an opportunity, and to Norwood for supporting me as a junior.
“I absolutely love the club, the boys and the coaches at Port and I’ve learned so much in the last few months.
“I just want to keep getting better and doing whatever I can for the team. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this group.”
