Port Adelaide midfielder Piper Window will spend a period of time on the sidelines after sustaining an ankle injury during the team’s Round 1 clash with Fremantle.

Window injured her ankle late in the game, with subsequent scans revealing damage to her syndesmosis. The 20-year-old will undergo surgery and begin her rehabilitation in the coming weeks.

Co-vice-captain Amelie Borg will also miss the Power’s Round 2 clash against North Melbourne after injuring her left ankle in the first quarter of the same game.

Luckless defender Janelle Cuthbertson’s return has been delayed, after developing a stress response in her foot during training.

Meanwhile, exciting forward Lauren Young continues to progress well in the final stages of her ACL rehabilitation, having recently returned to full-contact training.

Port Adelaide will name its extended squad for their upcoming clash against North Melbourne on Thursday at 5:50pm ACST, with the final team to be confirmed on Friday at 4:30pm ACST.
