Port Adelaide is pleased to announce that experienced assistant coach Luke Webster will join the club's coaching group for the 2026 season and beyond.

Webster brings a wealth of experience to Alberton, having spent the past decade as part of the West Coast Eagles coaching staff in various roles including development coach, inaugural WAFL Eagles senior coach, forward line coach and most recently backline coach.

Webster’s playing career included 33 AFL games with Fremantle and a WAFL premiership with East Perth in 2001, before transitioning into coaching where he has established himself as one of the most experienced assistant coaches in the competition.

"I'm incredibly excited to be joining Port Adelaide and working with senior coach Josh Carr," Webster said.

"I've been in talks with Port Adelaide for a couple of years now and the opportunity to be part of this club's new chapter is something I couldn't pass up.

"Port Adelaide has such a rich history and passionate supporter base, and I'm looking forward to contributing to the club's success both on and off the field.

“My wife Samantha and I are very excited for our new adventure.”

Port Adelaide senior coach Josh Carr said he was thrilled to secure Webster's services.

"I know Luke really well from our time together at Fremantle and he's an outstanding person and coach," Carr said.

"His character is first-class – he's someone who builds genuine relationships with players and has an outstanding reputation as an assistant coach across multiple areas of the game.

"Luke's experience and knowledge will be invaluable for our emerging playing group as we continue to build our program."

Port Adelaide will make further announcements regarding its football program in the coming weeks.
