Port Adelaide key defender Amelie Borg is one of three finalists for the 2025 AFLW Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award.

This prestigious honour celebrates the AFLW player who best embodies the values of the late Jim Stynes – Melbourne champion and former Demons president.

Recognising an outstanding commitment to community service and leadership, the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award is awarded to someone who has demonstrated a want to give back to the community and who leads by example, on and off the field.

Borg was nominated for her leadership working with Power Community Limited’s Empowered program, which challenges gender stereotypes and builds future leaders through sport.

As co-vice-captain of the Power’s AFLW team, the 20-year-old has been instrumental in expanding the program’s reach, with more than 1000 students engaged in 2025 across metropolitan and regional schools.

Borg has also supported the training and education for her teammates to become facilitators, ensuring the program’s long-term sustainability.

Her authenticity and advocacy have strengthened club and community support, helping to secure resources to include Empowered as a cornerstone of Port Adelaide’s engagement strategy.

A powerful voice for equality and education, Borg exemplifies how athletes can drive social change and create lasting impact far beyond the field.

Nominations for the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award are submitted by AFL Clubs and the AFL Players' Association before an 11-person judging panel selects the finalists.

The award winner will be announced during the W Awards on Monday 24 November, where they will receive $40,000 to be donated to the charity or community program of their choice.

This recognition comes after Borg was named a finalist for the prestigious 2025 Tom Hafey Heart of Football Award last month.
