Port Adelaide’s Round 3 game against West Coast became something far more than a regular football game, it marked the birth of the club's inaugural Educators' Round, a landmark celebration of the South Australian educators who dedicate their lives to building the next generation.

In partnership with Credit Union SA and the Department for Education, the Power opened its gates to more than 5,000 educators from across the state.

From early childhood workers to primary and secondary teachers, school support staff and Flinders University teaching students, their work was recognised with free family passes and special experiences.

Before the siren went on Sunday, the club called on fans to tell us about a teacher who changed their life.

More than 500 nominations poured in from across South Australia that included a wave of stories about educators who went above and beyond in classrooms, schoolyards and corridors.

From that remarkable response, 40 of the most celebrated nominees were rewarded with once-in-a-lifetime game day experiences that included the coin toss, ball delivery, guard of honour, roof climb and pre-game goal kicking among them.

Central to the round was presenting partner Credit Union SA, an organisation with more than 60 years of backing South Australian educators woven into its DNA.

Credit Union SA's School Impact Program pledges $1 million in funding over 10 years, giving schools across the state access to resources for meaningful community projects.

For Port Adelaide, Sunday was the natural extension of something the club has been quietly building for several years in classrooms across the state.

The initiative draws directly from the club's long-standing partnership with the South Australian Education Department, brought to life through an array of Power Community Limited's
impactful programs.

In 2025, Power Community Limited’s programs were delivered in 272 schools across regional, metro and remote South Australia, with the team delivering 588 educational workshops.
