Tom Cochrane will make his long-awaited return to football this weekend after almost 12 months on the sidelines, as Port Adelaide takes on South Adelaide on Good Friday.
The luckless forward had surgery last April when stress fractures were detected in his navicular, and then sustained a hamstring injury this past January.
Cochrane is now rehabilitated and ready to go, with the talented 20-year-old playing three AFL games before his injury last season.
The SANFL team will also be bolstered by Jackson Mead, who comes out of the AFL side, and Dante Visentini who was held back as an AFL emergency last weekend.
Ollie Wines and Mitch Zadow have both received an AFL call-up, after performances of 37 disposals and three goals respectively.
Both clubs are coming off the back of a Round 1 loss, with the Panthers beaten by Woodville-West Torrens last weekend, while the Magpies were downed by a strong Glenelg outfit.
Friday’s game begins at 2:10pm at Noarlunga Oval.
