Port Adelaide ruck Matilda Scholz has earned selection in the Australian squad for the inaugural 2026 NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland clash.

Scholz will represent Australia when the national side takes on Ireland at North Sydney Oval on Saturday, 1 August.

The selection follows an outstanding 2025 campaign that saw the 21-year-old claim back-to-back Best and Fairest awards and earn her maiden All-Australian blazer.

Standing at 189 centimetres, she was a standout performer throughout the season, averaging 17 disposals, 22.8 hitouts and six score involvements per game, while consistently controlling stoppages and providing a powerful presence around the contest.

The inaugural NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland clash will be the first AFLW representative fixture since the Victoria versus Allies exhibition match in 2017, bringing together many of the competition's best players.

The Australian team has been selected by dual North Melbourne premiership coach Darren Crocker and Chairman of Selectors Debbie Lee.

Scholz won't be the only Port Adelaide representative involved, with Operations Manager Rachel Sporn selected as part of the Australian team's operations staff.

Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, 24 June via Ticketek. Port Adelaide members will have access from 10am AEST, before the general public at 12pm AEST. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for youth (aged 15 – 17), $5 for children (14 and under), while a family of four can attend for $50.
