Port Adelaide has named its squad for Saturday’s official AFLW practice match against Melbourne at Alberton Oval, with the Power set to fine-tune its preparations ahead of the 2026 NAB AFLW season. 

Following strong hit-outs against West Coast and Fremantle over the past fortnight, Glenn Strachan’s side will use the third pre-season hit-out to continue building connection, chemistry and match readiness ahead of Round 1. 

Captain Justine Mules-Robinson will lead the side from the forward line, joining a dangerous attacking group featuring Gemma Houghton, Indy Tahau, Katelyn Pope and Lauren Young. 

Reigning best and fairest winner Matilda Scholz will again take charge in the ruck, with the All-Australian supported through the midfield by experienced campaigners Ash Woodland, Maria Moloney and Ella Heads, alongside Abbey Dowrick and Ebony O’Dea. 

Fans will also get their first look at draftees Olivia Crane and Sophie Eaton in official match action at Alberton, with the pair named in defence alongside co-vice-captain Amelie Borg, Teagan Germech and Jasmine Sowden.   

Injury replacement player Grace Parsons has also been named on the interchange, while midfielder Shineah Goody is set to make her first appearance of the pre-season. The exciting young talent will return to match action for the first time since signing a three-year contract extension. 

Under AFLW practice match rules, Port Adelaide will have 16 players on the field and eight available on the interchange bench, allowing the coaching group to continue managing player loads while ensuring valuable match minutes are spread across the squad. 

It will be an action-packed morning at Alberton Oval, with supporters able to watch the AFL side's Captain’s Run from 9:15am before settling in for the AFLW practice match from 11:30am ACST.  

Entry is free for all supporters, with fans encouraged to come down and experience the club’s new facilities. Tables on the deck at The Port Club are also available to book.
