Port Adelaide forward Caitlin Wendland has been moved to the inactive list ahead of the 2026 NAB AFLW season.
The 22-year-old sustained an anterior cruciate ligament rupture during the 2025 pre-season, before undergoing successful reconstructive surgery and completing an extensive rehabilitation program.
Despite her commitment and progress throughout her recovery, she will now focus solely on her recovery through an intensive training block, with her return to full health the priority.
Head of AFLW Dan Merrett said the club would continue to support Wendland throughout the next phase of her recovery.
"Caitlin has approached every stage of her rehabilitation with professionalism and determination," Merrett said.
"While this isn't the outcome anyone wanted ahead of the season, we know this decision gives her the best chance to return to full health.
“We'll continue to support her every step of the way and look forward to seeing her back out on the track when the time is right.”
