Jez McLennan will depart Port Adelaide’s SANFL program after two seasons of service.
McLennan played 34 games for the Magpies after moving across from Central District at the end of 2024 and was appointed captain in 2026.
The 26-year-old’s form during his time at the club was twice rewarded with a place in the SANFL state team.
This season, he placed third in the A.R. McLean Medal count, ranking just behind AFL-listed players Will Lorenz and Will Brodie.
Port Adelaide’s head of SANFL Paul Stewart thanked McLennan for his contribution to the club.
“Jez joined us two years ago for the opportunity to be back in an AFL environment and give himself the best possible chance of landing on an AFL list again," Stewart said.
"While that didn't eventuate, he has given our SANFL program great service and has been a strong player and leader for the program.
"We're grateful for everything he's contributed, and we wish him all the best for the future, on and off the field.
"With a new coach at the helm in Heath Younie, and following a challenging season from a performance perspective, we're looking forward to welcoming some new talent in the coming weeks."
