Connor Rozee on returning to pre-season training:

“It’s pretty exciting - another year in the system.

“To come back nice and early - a couple of weeks before the older boys - and I’m pretty keen to get back into it. Start running and get fit again.

Rozee’s focus for pre-season and the 2020 season:

“I just want to keep building on how I finished off last year.

“Personally, it was a successful first year. I played all of the games, which will be my goal again.

“Firstly, I would like to establish myself in the team again and hopefully as the year progresses, I can push into the midfield a little bit more.

“Endurance is the main focus.

“Especially if I’m looking to move into the midfield. It’s something I focussed on last year as well and hopefully I can put on a few more kilos as well.

Rozee on playing forward and a push into the midfield:

“I like playing down forward, I’m happy playing down there.

“But whenever Ken (Hinkley) needs me to go into the midfield, I’ll be happy to go in there.

“I’ll keep pushing my case, and I will try to get my endurance and body size up a little bit to help that out, but at the moment I am enjoying my time forward.

Rozee on Sam Gray:

“He was a really valued member of our team.

“The club is aspiring to win a premiership. At Port Adelaide that is all we are trying to do.

“There are a lot of young boys coming through pushing their cases, and unfortunately Sammy (Gray) didn’t get a contract.

“All the boys are wishing him well.

Rozee on the pressure of playing for Port Adelaide:

“There is always pressure when you’re playing for Port Adelaide.

“It’s a historic club, and with the number of premierships we have won in the past.

“There will be added pressure from the outside with it being the 150th year, but internally we are always looking to make finals and go as far into finals as we can.

“That’s what we will be looking to do again this year.

Rozee on what he can bring to the midfield:

“Obviously I am a little bit of a different body shape to those boys.

“What I can bring that’s different is a bit of leg speed, and some run and carry with the ball.

“Most of those boys are really good with their contested ball, and hopefully I can bring some of that outside speed.

Rozee on the outside run in 2019:

“I think Karl Amon did a pretty good job when he went in there.

“Boaky is pretty good on the outside as well, so we had a pretty good mix last year. We can probably change it up a little bit this year and see where that takes us.

Rozee on Boyd Woodcock:

“The last part of his season was pretty strong last year.

“He was really good in the Magpies in the back end of the season. He’s been training well for his first year, and he’s really been pushing a case for the first 22.

“Hopefully this season he can keep pushing and maybe get a game.
