JACKSON Trengove has been cleared by the Match Review Panel for a tackle on Geelong's Mitch Duncan.

The tackle - which left Duncan with a concussion - was deemed to be fair by the MRP, who gave this assessment:

Contact between Port Adelaide’s Jackson Trengove and the Geelong Cats’ Mitch Duncan from the first quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed

The panel said Duncan had taken possession of the ball and then accelerated in a bid to break through a congested area of players. Trengove met Duncan with a tackle and took him to the ground in one motion.

It was the view of the panel that Trengove’s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action was taken.

Port Adelaide will regain Tom Jonas against the Suns, who has served his three-match ban for rough conduct.
