THE Port Adelaide Football Club is saddened by the passing of long-time legal advisor Mark Griffin QC.

Mr Griffin advised the club on tribunal matters as well as a number of other legal matters regarding staff and players.

A genuine Port Adelaide person with the best interests of the club always at the heart of his advice, no request was ever too much for the experienced barrister.

The former District Court judge died of liver cancer on Sunday surrounded by family.

The 62-year-old will be fondly remembered by those at the club who came into contact with him, and his contribution will be recognised with the club to wear black armbands in Round 2 of the AFL season in his honour.

The Port Adelaide Football Club extends its condolences to his family and friends.
