FORMER Port Adelaide AFL players Nathan Krakouer and Marlon Motlop have joined the club’s Academy players on the training track in hope of earning a place on the Magpies senior list for 2014.

But there are no guarantees for the pair according to the club’s SANFL football manager Scott Peters.

Motlop, 22, came to Port Adelaide from NTFL side Wanderers in the 2007 national draft and played five games for the Power, while Krakouer, 24, was drafted in 2006 and played 40 games between 2007 and 2010 before joining Gold Coast.

“Marlon’s been with us for about a month and Nathan has started with us recently, but hasn't been with the main group yet,” Peters told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“But we’re very firm that whether you’re an ex-AFL player, an Academy player or a bloke who comes to train with us from another club or interstate, you will be considered for what you do [on the track] and earn your place on the club’s list.

“Marlon and Nathan know their time with the Power won’t count for anything when we make our decisions, but hard work on the track will - we want guys who are here for the right reasons.

“That applies to everyone out with the Academy group at the moment.”

Port Adelaide has four vacant spots on its SANFL senior list remaining and is expected to finalise its group in the week leading up to the season start.
