portadelaidefc.com.au investigates who’s in the mix for selection for the Power and the Demons ahead of Sunday’s clash at Adelaide Oval.

Port Adelaide
Coach Ken Hinkley has hinted there could be changes this week against Melbourne.

Alipate Carlile (hamstring) will need to prove his fitness at training on Thursday if he is any chance to play in Multicultural Round this Sunday at Adelaide Oval.

Given the normal recovery time for a hamstring injury, and the fact the Power has the bye next week, the club is likely to take a cautious approach on his return, meaning he’d need to be 100% to have any chance of playing.

Robbie Gray will have to pass a concussion test to be available for selection.

Paul Stewart made a successful return from a knee injury against North Adelaide in the SANFL last weekend, starring in the Magpies narrow loss.

Stewart had 33 touches, 11 marks and a goal in a performance that will see him come right into the frame for the Power this week.

Andrew Moore also returned from shoulder surgery and was solid with 21 touches. Moore could add some toughness around the ball, an area Hinkley has highlighted as one that needs improvement.

Ben Newton and Dom Cassisi will also be in the mix to improve the Power’s contested ball.

Young key defender Tom Clurey was impressive again in the SANFL and continues to push for a senior call-up.

Karl Amon was a standout for the Magpies with 21 touches and 4 goals, but the first-year player still seems a way off senior selection.
