Xavier Duursma is helped from the field after injuring his right hamstring against Fremantle on the Gold Coast.

PORT ADELAIDE’s wingman Xavier Duursma will miss at least his side’s next three AFL games after suffering a hamstring strain in last night’s win over Fremantle.

The teenager left the field early in the third quarter and didn’t play any further part in Port Adelaide’s 29-point victory.

Scans on Monday confirmed a hamstring muscle strain and he’s likely to miss three to four weeks of football.

Defender Ryan Burton will resume some assisted running this week after minor knee surgery last Tuesday and is on track to return to playing in two to three weeks.

In more good news, rookies Tobin Cox and Trent Burgoyne have recovered from a quad injury and leg infection respectively and each has returned to training.

Port Adelaide will name its side to face West Coast on Thursday evening.

Injury list

Xavier Duursma – hamstring (3-4 weeks)

Ryan Burton – knee (2-3 weeks)

Willem Drew – foot (4-6 weeks)
