NOMINATIONS for the AFL Players' Association MVP awards have been finalised with five Port Adelaide stars getting the nod from their peers.

Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak and forwards Chad Wingard and Justin Westhoff are the Power's three nominated players for the Leigh Matthews Trophy.

Gutsy full-forward Jay Schulz has been nominated for the Robert Rose Most Courageous Award, while Ollie Wines has been put up for the Best First Year Player merit.

Travis Boak is an automatic nominee for the Best Captain award.

The awards to be revealed on September 10 are determined through a two-stage voting process.

The Power's three nominees for the Leigh Matthews Trophy are determined by a vote of their teammates.

The league's players will then vote for their top three players from the 17 other clubs, with the highest scoring player named the Association's Most Valuable Player.
