MELBOURNE is without Mark Jamar and Mitch Clark for this Saturday night’s clash with Port Adelaide at TIO Stadium.

Clark was ruled out for the season after the Demons’ 78 point win over the GWS Giants in late June, whilst Jamar endured a calf injury last weekend in their loss to Fremantle.

Jamar, the Demons’ main ruckman, returned to the Fremantle clash after missing a handful of weeks with a previous calf injury and, having played just minutes of the match, reinjured it during the first quarter.

2004 Port Adelaide premiership player-now-Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney told melbournefc.com.au that despite Jamar was fit to play the Dockers.

“Mark had completed all of the relevant tests during the week and he was passed fit by the medical staff,” said Mahoney.

“He felt comfortable that he could play out the game and it’s unfortunate that he’s hurt his calf again and he’ll miss the next three to four weeks.”

Compounding Melbourne’s injury woes is the news that Jamie Bennell had injured his ACL and will miss not only Saturday’s clash in Darwin, but also the rest of the season.

Melbournefc.com.au confirmed that Jack Watts, Luke Tapscott and James Sellar are also possibilities to return.

The Demons have fourteen players on their injury list with four to be tested this week.
