IN response to some reports, the Port Adelaide Football Club wishes to make it known that it had no knowledge of the Geelong Football Club’s intention to meet with Travis Boak in Adelaide on the weekend.

Cats coach Chris Scott, captain Joel Selwood and senior player Jimmy Bartel flew to Adelaide on Sunday to meet Boak who is weighing up his future ahead of coming out of contract with Port Adelaide at the end of the 2012 season.

Port Adelaide general manager football Peter Rohde said that it wasn’t until he asked Geelong officials last month that they confirmed they had already met with Boak in Geelong.

“While we became aware of Geelong’s interest in Travis and assumed that their discussions would continue, we certainly had no prior knowledge that they were coming to Adelaide on Sunday,” Rohde said.

“The first we knew of it was when the media called us for a response.”
