AFTER a big win last week against the Crows, be sure not to miss the AFL action this Saturday as Port Adelaide take on the Gold Coast at AAMI Stadium. Help make the Suns’ first trip to AAMI Stadium one to forget as the Power look to make it back-to-back victories.
Once again, the Port Adelaide Football Club is proud to be playing its role in the AFL’s ANZAC Round, ahead of our nation honouring the sacrifice of its fallen on Monday.
Saturday’s 2.45pm game will be preceded by an ANZAC Observance Ceremony, including the reading of The Ode and the playing of the Last Post, followed by a minute’s silence and the National Anthem.
Senior Coach, Matthew Primus, is looking for your support.
“We would encourage every Port member, supporter and football fan to join with us, the Gold Coast Suns and the AFL at AAMI Stadium on Saturday, to play their part in this tribute,” he said.
For the eighth year, the Peter Badcoe VC Medal will be presented to the player who best exemplifies the ANZAC spirit, showing skill, courage in adversity, self-sacrifice, teamwork and fair play.
Before the Power-Suns clash there’ll be a curtain-raiser at 11.45am between the Australian Defence Force and the Australian Combined Emergency Services. Additionally, the Power-Suns game will be followed by the Motor Accident Commission MAC Cup, between the SA Amateur Football League and State Country.
With ANZAC Day coinciding with Easter, it’s a LONG long weekend. Make the most of it and enjoy a Saturday footy feast. It’s a great opportunity for our country fans to make it too.
Port Adelaide Classic, Country and also One Club members are reminded that this is the second of the three games they have access to in Season 2011.
