Port Adelaide

Following three weeks on the sidelines with a hip injury, it was confirmed earlier this week skipper Dom Cassisi is available to play against the Demons.

He could be joined by David Rodan, who has missed the past two weeks with a hamstring injury.

The club will decide tonight whether Rodan has done enough to prove he’s fully recovered and can travel with the team to Darwin.

Jasper Pittard completed his second game at SANFL league level for Sturt last weekend and is expected to return to the AFL line-up for Round 17.

“Jasper’s coming along well and he’ll be back (in the Power side) for the Darwin match,” senior coach Matt Primus said after Saturday’s clash with the Bombers.

“He’ll add a bit of run and carry to our backline.”

Nathan Blee continued his good SANFL form and is closing in on AFL selection, but with Alipate Carlile, Jackson Trengove and Troy Chaplin all settled in defence, Blee’s AFL debut may have to wait.

The Power travels to Darwin on Thursday morning.

Melbourne

With key big men Mitch Clark and Mark Jamar sidelined by injury, the Demons will be sweating on the fitness of James Sellar, who could come in to fill a role up forward for Melbourne.

Expect to see young big man Jake Spencer return to the fray to support Stefan Martin following Spencer’s best on ground performance in Casey Scorpion’s three-point win in the VFL.

Brent Moloney also starred for Melbourne’s VFL affiliate racking up a massive 12 clearances after being dropped from the AFL side last week.

Moloney will be a strong chance to return as will Cale Morton (27 touches) and Jordan Gysberts (26) who were both prolific for the Scorpions.

Jack Watts (ankle) and Luke Tapscott (groin) remain under injury clouds but would be likely starters in the Melbourne 22 if they can prove their fitness.

Lynden Dunn has also served his suspension and is available for selection.
