SO I achieved my first goal for season 2010 - scoring more points than Robbie in Round 1.

I’m not going to say I thrashed him, because I only scored 48 points more than him, but it was the way my team looked on the field that has me excited for a big 2010 and many more dinners cooked by Robbie, or, in this week’s case, Robbie’s girlfriend.

Instead of me sitting back and brushing up on my PS3 skills while Robbie slaved in the kitchen on Monday night, Robbie joined me and left the cooking to his lovely girlfriend, who happened to be over for the weekend. Her chicken and veg dish was better than what Robbie can cook, but I still reckon he owes me one.

Team Boak got off to a solid start scoring 1950 points in Round 1 to leave me ranked 41,207 out of a massive 258,814 Dream Teams. Still plenty of work to do if I’m going to win that car!

I tell you who is a red hot chance for the car - Power fan Jason Way. Jason was one of over 650 people who entered the Official Pizza Hut Power Dream Team Group and he is the winner for Round 1, his team Mad Hops scoring a massive 2320, ranking him 41st overall in the entire AFL competition! Jason has won a week’s worth of pizza valued at more than $100 thanks to Pizza Hut. Well done Jason.

Now for a little bit of team analysis.

I said last week when I revealed my team that Luke Hodge should score me 80s this year. Well he did that and almost did it twice in one game racking up a massive 142 in the Hawks big win over the Dees at the G. He looked like he spent plenty of time in the midfield and I reckon he looks the goods for 2010. Keep an eye on him and consider trading him in after Round 2 before his price goes up if you don’t already have him.

The other blokes who impressed me a lot were Eddie Betts (110) and Jack Ziebell (92). Mid-priced players can make or break you and I think with these two they’ll certainly make me. Betts was the Blues go to man against the Tigers while Ziebell ran hard all day through the Roos’ midfield.

I usually don’t like to make trades too early in the year, but after watching Michael Barlow rack up a massive 128 against the Crows, I had to get him in! So my first trade for the year was Dustin Martin out, Michael Barlow in, leaving me with $58,700 in the bank.

Well, that’s it from me for now. Make sure catch our game Saturday night at Subiaco against the Eagles and Robbie will report back to you next week.
