Richmond skipper Trent Cotchin could be rested for Saturday night's clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

RICHMOND is absolutely flying at the moment despite a lengthy injury list, with five wins in its past six games, including a big win over Brisbane on Tuesday night.

The reigning Premier put the Lions to the sword to the tune of 41 points, with big forwards Jack Reiwoldt and Tom Lynch doing most of the damage with four and three goals respectively.

The Tigers will be sweating on the MRO’s viewing of an incident involving Lynch after the big man pushed the head of Brisbane’s Alex Witherden forcefully into the ground.

Witherden was lying flat on his stomach before Lynch pushed his head into the ground as the Lion got back to his feet.

The Tigers will go into Saturday’s match at Adelaide Oval with the disadvantage of having to travel from Queensland and having shorter break of four days as opposed to five for Port.

There is some suggestion captain Trent Cotchin might not make the trip so that he could have a rest but Josh Caddy is a useful player to have among a group hoping to take his place if he goes out.

While regulars Dion Prestia and Bachar Houli are still not ready to play on Saturday, Oleg Markov, Daniel Rioli, Riley Collier-Dawkins and Jack Graham have each been close in the last few weeks and were emergencies on Tuesday night.

Port Adelaide and Richmond have split the last eight encounters with four wins each but Port holds the advantage in the overall record with 18 wins and a draw in 32 meetings.

The third-placed Tigers will name their side on Friday night for the game against Port the following day.
