PORT ADELAIDE forward Mitch Georgiades has been announced as the AFL’s NAB Rising Star nominee for Round 5.

The 19-year-old was recognised for his performance against Carlton on Saturday night at the MCG when he booted three goals.

Playing just his eleventh AFL game, Georgiades had a career-high 15 disposals to go with five marks and two tackles.

Drafted with pick 18 in the 2019 National Draft from Subiaco in Western Australia, this is Georgiades’ second NAB Rising Star nomination, after he was also given the honour in Round 9, 2020 after his third career game.

He is the first Port Adelaide player to receive a nomination for the NAB Rising Star Award in 2021, and in doing so his junior club, the Wembley Downs Football Club, receives a community awards pack on behalf of NAB.

Georgiades joins teammate Orazio Fantasia as dual nominee.
