PORT ADELAIDE defender Tom Clurey has had surgery after breaking his jaw in the loss to the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.

Clurey was subbed out of the game in the second quarter after clashing heads with an opponent and had surgery late on Sunday. The 27-year-old is expected to be sidelined for six weeks as he recovers from the procedure.

Fellow defender Dan Houston could return this week after sitting out of Saturday night’s game, after re-aggravating an AC joint injury in the win over Adelaide in Round 8.

Lachie Jones could also be available after an ankle syndesmosis repair last month, but will need to prove his fitness as he returns to full training this week.

Wingman Xavier Duursma has started running again following surgery to repair the lateral ligament in his right knee, and is closing in on a return to the field in the back end of the season.

Port Adelaide faces Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday from 3:20pm AEST / 2:50pm ACST.

The team will be named on Thursday evening at 5:50pm ACST.
