PORT ADELAIDE could welcome back forward Steven Motlop from injury for this week’s game against Carlton.

Motlop had surgery on his ankle nearly a month ago after suffering a syndesmosis injury in Round 17 during his 200th game against Melbourne

The 30-year-old trained well last week and will attempt to prove his fitness to face the Blues as the week progresses.

Hamish Hartlett has started the rehabilitation process following an arthroscope on his right knee late last week.

A timeframe for his return is yet to be finalised.

Defender Lachie Jones will resume running this week as he progresses towards a return following ankle surgery.

First-year midfielder/forward Taj Schofield was training well and ready for a return to play, but suffered a repeat of his right hamstring tendon injury in a training incident late last week and will now consult a specialist to consider a potential surgical intervention.

Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name its side to tackle the Blues, with the date and time of that fixture to be confirmed.
