A member of Port Adelaide’s Next Generation Academy, Benny Barrett was added to the club’s list as a category B rookie ahead of the 2025 season. The 19-year-old is a livewire small forward who boasts blistering pace and creativity in the forward 50. In 2024, he featured for both South Adelaide’s under 18s and reserves, as well as for South Australia, where he was named among the best players in his two appearances.
With a full season in Port Adelaide's SANFL side under his belt, Barrett will continue his football education in 2026 – aiming for an AFL debut in future.
