Jed McEntee arrived at Port Adelaide after being selected with the 13th pick in the AFL mid-season draft. The 176-centimetre midfielder was part of the South Australian Under-18 side at the 2019 national championship alongside teammates Jackson Mead and Taj Schofield, and more recently played for Sturt in the SANFL. McEntee impressed with his time at the Double Blues, claiming the Cec May Best Emerging Talent Award in 2020 after playing every game that season.
He made his debut for Port Adelaide in the side’s Round 18 contest with St Kilda, however was not able to make his way back into the team in the 2021 season. Described as a fierce midfielder who loves the contested side of football, McEntee is knocking at the door for AFL selection and will be looking for another opportunity to prove he can compete alongside the club’s best 22 this season.
