Ewan Mackinlay arrived at Port Adelaide after being selected with the 11th pick in the 2025 mid-season draft from North Adelaide. The 23-year-old is a speedy midfielder who is also capable of hitting the scoreboard, with his bursts of speed and agility and ability to work into space catching the eye of Port Adelaide recruiters.
Having quickly adapted to the AFL environment, Mackinlay made his debut in Port Adelaide's final game of the 2025 season - impressing with 15 disposals, four tackles and a goal in his first ever taste of AFL football. He found a place in Josh Carr's side, playing the first 14 games of 2026 before a knee injury cut his season short. Signing a contract extension until at least the end of 2028, Mackinlay can continue building his craft knowing the club has full faith in his potential.
