After struggling to find his place in Port Adelaide’s side in the early stages of his career, Karl Amon put together a brilliant 2019 campaign that was rewarded with a three-year contract extension.
With the pressure on to replicate his form in 2020, the soft-spoken Amon did just that as he surged closer to the 100-game mark in his AFL career, playing all 19 games for the year.
Amon’s ability to carry the ball and drive it forward effectively was a key factor in Port’s increased scoring capacity in 2020. He led the club in total metres gained – setting a career-high despite the shortened season, ranked fourth for inside 50s and sixth for score involvements.
