PORT ADELAIDE looks set to have a host of new faces for season 2022 and the race will soon be on for guernsey numbers.
There are at least 14 numbers up for grabs giving the new recruits plenty of choice.
So far, the club has brought in Jeremy Finlayson from Greater Western Sydney and free agent Sam Skinner, formerly of Brisbane via South Adelaide.
Finlayson could elect to take on the number 31 he wore in 66 games with the Giants following the departure of its previous owner Trent Burgoyne.
Skinner wore number 21 at Brisbane, currently worn by fellow defender Aliir Aliir, while with the Panthers he donned the number 16, currently occupied by Brownlow Medallist Ollie Wines, so he will be on the hunt for a new number.
Finlayson and Skinner have the first pick as the newest on the club’s list, before Port also recruits several new players at the AFL National Draft next week.
Players generally opt for numbers inside 45, meaning Jake Pasini may elect to seek a lower number from the 48 he wore in 2021.
Other players may also seek a number change ahead of next season.
