TRENT MCKENZIE’s courageous last quarter mark in Friday night’s Showdown LI has earned him a nomination for the AFL’s Mark of the Year.

With less than seven minutes to play, McKenzie came off his man to provide assistance to teammate Lachie Jones and running with back with the flight towards his defensive goal, launched at the ball.

The 30-year-old got to the ball before Crow Lachie Gollant, juggling it in the air before claiming the mark while landing flat on his back.

It was the first of two courageous marks McKenzie took running back with the flight in the last quarter when the game was on the line.

The other Round 3 nominees are Tim English from the Western Bulldogs and West Coast’s Jeremy McGovern.
