ORAZIO FANTASIA will make his return to competitive football as one of eight inclusions for Port Adelaide’s SANFL game against West Adelaide on Sunday.

After being the unused AFL medical substitute last weekend, Fantasia will be part of strong forward line which also includes the experienced Charlie Dixon, playing his second game at the level following two rounds of ankle surgery.

Also among the inclusions are a host of AFL-listed players including Miles Bergman, Hugh Jackson, Sam Mayes, and Jackson Mead along with SANFL contracted players Luke Surman, Brayden Kirk and Anthony Wilson.

Before last week’s competition pause for the SANFL v WAFL state game, a Magpies outfit depleted by players under health and safety protocols and injuries fell to reigning premier Woodville-West Torrens.

Coming out of the side that went down to the Eagles are Matt Appleton, Aryan Sareen and Campbell Wildman along with the injured Jake Pasini.

Lachie Jones has been named to feature in the AFL side while Martin Frederick, Ollie Lord and Taj Schofield are listed as AFL emergencies for the trip to Geelong and are eligible to feature against West Adelaide the following day.

Sunday’s game at Loxton Oval is part of a tribute event for fallen Port Adelaide legend Russell Ebert, with the sides to play for a special trophy.

They’ll also observe a minutes’ silence before the game, with two of Ebert’s junior clubs Loxton and Waikerie to do battle in a curtain raiser from 10:40am.

The SANFL game gets underway at 2:05pm.
