TALL forward Ollie Lord has sustained a lacerated kidney after a heavy collision at training earlier this week.

The injury was caused by a knee to the back, with Lord now recovering at home after spending time in hospital under observation.

A timeline for the 21-year-old’s return to training will become clearer over the coming weeks.

In positive news, Jason Horne-Francis and Mitch Georgiades have both returned to full training following surgery before Christmas.

Horne-Francis underwent a procedure to decompress the arteries behind his knees in October, while Georgiades had the syndesmosis buttons in his ankle removed in December.

Defender Jase Burgoyne has returned to running after a knee procedure in December to have his lateral meniscus trimmed.

The young defender is expected to return to training following the team’s four-day break at the end of next week.

Port Adelaide will hold open training sessions on Friday the 20th and Wednesday the 25th of January from 9:15am at Alberton Oval.
