Yartapuulti has named an extended 24-player squad for its trip to Arden Street Oval this Sunday, with Jasmine Simmons set to make her club debut.
Athletic utility Simmons will don the teal for the first time after arriving at Alberton from Adelaide during the sign and trade period earlier this year.
Norwood product Georgie Jaques has been named on the extended bench and, if selected, will make her NAB AFLW debut, while Maria Moloney comes in after missing Round 6 for personal reasons.
Ella Boag and Julia Teakle will both return from injury, with forward Teakle sidelined since Round 2 and winger Boag last featuring in Round 3.
Janelle Cuthbertson’s season is sadly over after injuring a tendon in her finger, while Maggie MacLachlan also comes out of the side with an ankle sprain.
Hannah Ewings has been omitted from the team due to not meeting performance standards and expectations.
The club will continue supporting Ewings on and off the field to assist her in returning to the form she is capable of.
The final 21 will be announced on Friday afternoon at 4:30pm ACDT, with the three emergencies to be selected from the extended interchange.
It will be the first time Yartapuulti takes on North Melbourne at Arden Street, with the sides last meeting at Alberton in Round 8 of Season 7, in a 25-point loss for the home side.
Yartapuulti will wear a special First Nations guernsey in the next two games, designed by Gemma Houghton and local artist Tjunkaya Ken.
Sunday’s game gets under way at 12:35pm ACDT and can be watched live on Channel 7, Fox Footy and Kayo.
