Port Adelaide has added three talented youngsters to its list with Tom Anastasopoulos, Lachlan Charleson and Will Lorenz landing at Alberton after the second night of the AFL Draft.

Forward Anastasopoulos’ name was called at pick 48 after the club traded its future 4th Round pick tied to Essendon with North Melbourne.

Forward Charleson was selected with pick 52 after Port Adelaide traded its future 4th Round pick tied to Carlton with Hawthorn, while the club used its final selection of pick 57 to select midfielder Lorenz.

Anastasopoulos, a product of Geelong Falcons, is known for his good mix of speed and endurance and ability to finish in front of goals.

Charleson, who represented Vic Country in the national championships, is a small forward with very good forward craft and an ability to hit the scoreboard.

Lorenz, who represented Vic Metro and was a member of the AFL Academy, is a versatile player with good skills, who can play both in a half-forward and wing role.

Port Adelaide national recruiting manager Geoff Parker was excited by the club’s newest crop of recruits.

“We look at the trade and draft period in its entirety and we are very happy with the players who we have brought into the club during this period,” Parker said.

“Our focus during the trade period was to recruit key defenders and rucks to strengthen our list and tonight at the Draft we had a clear plan to bring in some high forwards who can push up the ground and hit the scoreboard.

“We feel we have this in Tom, Lachlan and Will.

“Tom is a small forward with a good mix of speed and endurance. He has the ability to work up and back from forward 50 to defensive 50 and when he gets the opportunity he’s a very good finisher in front of goals.

“Lachlan is also a small forward who has demonstrated some outstanding forward craft this season. He has the ability to hit the scoreboard as evidenced by his eight goal game against Bendigo earlier this year.

“Will is taller than both Tom and Lachlan and has shown versatility in the way he can play half-forward or push higher up the ground on a wing. Will also impressed with his ball use by foot and hand during the season.”

Port Adelaide will now take one pick (pick 13) into tomorrow’s AFL Rookie Draft.
