IN: J Horne-Francis 18, J Sweet 24, M Liddy 50
OUT: T Boak (managed), J Finlayson 11, C Moraes 31 (omitted)
Mid-season draftee Mani Liddy will make his AFL debut this Sunday, just 18 days after finding himself on an AFL list.
Central District product Liddy was Port Adelaide’s third pick in the recent rookie draft, but will be the first of the new trio to feature at AFL level.
The midfielder is known not only for his good ball use and clean hands, but also for his leg sleeve – something he has worn over the last nine months since a serious football injury at SANFL level.
At 23 years old, Liddy has earned his first opportunity to play at the highest level, when just a couple of weeks ago, he was working full-time as a refrigeration mechanic.
Jordon Sweet has been added to the team after producing some top-quality SANFL football over the last few weeks, while Jason Horne-Francis returns following a hamstring strain sustained in Round 11.
Jeremy Finlayson and Christian Moraes have both been omitted, while 36-year-old Travis Boak will be managed this weekend.
Sweet and Liddy have been named on the interchange alongside Josh Sinn, Hugh Jackson and Jackson Mead, with one of these five players to be named as the tactical substitute an hour before the bounce.
