Port Adelaide has announced an extended squad for Sunday’s clash with Fremantle, with the club unveiling its first debutant of the season.

Crafty 18-year-old Jasmine Sowden will make her debut after the Power selected her with pick 52 in the 2024 AFLW draft.

The Gippsland Power product caught the eye of selectors during the pre-season practice matches with her elite skills on both sides of the body and sharp ball use around stoppages.

Also donning the Port Adelaide guernsey for the first time is defender Ella Heads, who is set to make her club debut after landing at Alberton from the Sydney Swans at the end of the 2024 season.

After making her AFLW debut in 2022, Heads played 33 consecutive games and impressed during Port Adelaide's recent pre-season practice matches with her precise ball use from the back line, marking ability, and composure.

Meanwhile, inaugural Power forward Gemma Houghton is poised to celebrate her milestone 75th AFLW game, and defender Indy Tahau is set to take the field for the first time since rupturing her ACL in the 2023 season.

The Power’s extended bench includes fellow potential debutants Lily Paterson, Coby Morgan and Chloe Gaunt, alongside Ebony O’Dea, Alyssa Brook, Ella Boag, Kirsty Lamb and Katelyn Pope. The group of eight will be trimmed to five when final Sunday teams are confirmed on Friday afternoon at 4:30pm ACST.

Port Adelaide will face the Dockers from 3:40pm ACST on Sunday afternoon.

Gates at Alberton Oval open at 2:10pm with more information about the day at the  AFLW Game Day Hub.

Tickets remain available for the game with free entry for anyone under the age of 18.

If you can’t get to the ground, the game will be broadcast live on Channel 7, Fox Footy, Kayo, or Binge from 3:30pm ACST.
